Rec League 2018

Rec League 2018!

Albany Roller Derby League is excited to launch their Rec league for 2018. What is a Rec League? Well, its two sides made up of players from Albany Roller Derby League that play 9 times in the year. It will be vital to the skills and fitness of our skaters before playing in the travel team ‘Great Southern Breakers’ it is also a way that ANY WFTDA Minimum Skills cleared skater can come and join in, people travelling around the Great Southern or making a trip down from Perth can join in!

If you have been along to a Black and White game of ours, it is kind of like that. A full-length game with all the same rules and regulations, but a little more low key. The games will run at the new venue The Track on 300 Roundhay Rd at 7 pm, with $5 entry for adults and kids in FREE. There will be bar running, food and music.

The sides are named Cold Snaps and Storm Fronts to represent the wild Albany weather. The logos for each side have been designed by talented WA artist Dee Mosca D-ranged Art & Design who replied to the leagues rather obscure brief and set it in action to create these two fantastic logos.

The Rec League is a huge development for the league as they continue to grow and develop as a sporting club. The league is run solely by volunteers, like many sports clubs, and trains officials year round as well as qualified coaches passionate about roller sports.

We are proud to have MCB Construction Pty Ltd as one of the sponsors for Rec league but are searching for another local business that would like to step up and be involved in our amazing sport.
